[Free shipping] MURASAKI 2 live CDs [back to the roots] 1997 + [MURASAKI WHY NOW…?] 1983 + bonus CD-R MURASAKI
[Free shipping] We are offering two live CDs from the original members of Okinawa's legendary rock band MURASAKI, who are still active with member changes. These are not rental copies. The cover photo of ① is the one in the top left of image 3, but the back image is more like MURASAKI, so we have taken the photo on the front.
Currently, the documentary film MURASAKI: The Legendary Rock Spirits is being shown in movie theaters in Okinawa, and even though it has been almost half a century since their debut, MURASAKI is still a landmark of Okinawan music. MURASAKI disbanded just two years after arriving on the mainland in 1975, but the members who returned to their hometown continued to work in various bands such as Zodiac, Island, Mariner, and New Murasaki, but in 1983 they reunited at the Peace Rock Festival (② recording), and in the 1990s the original members performed again at many rock festivals in the prefecture.

① is the last live CD officially released by the six original members (Keyboard/George Murasaki, Drums/Vocals/Eiichi Miyanaga, Guitar/Shimoji Yukio, Guitar/Higa Kiyomasa, Vocals/Shiroma Masao, Bass/Shiroma Toshio). There are several live recordings of Murasaki since ROCK DAY on August 8, 1975, but most of them are of a certain quality due to the recording technology of the time. However, this CD has good sound quality and sound pressure, and is a recommended CD that allows you to enjoy the mature performance skills of the band, which has been active for nearly 30 years (at this point). The album includes covers of Deep Purple, which are always played on stage, along with originals, and the speedy performance that starts with the opening song "AND THE ADDRESS" and then moves on to "FIREBALL" speaks to the heat of this live show. The fifth track, "MOTHER NATURE'S PLIGHT," is the first release of an official live recording, but it is a long, progressive rock song that is unlike "Murasaki," and features George Murasaki's keyboard playing Okinawan scales. A video of this live performance was once aired on News Station during the Kume Hiroshi era.
② was the first reunion live show since the band broke up in 1977, and according to the liner notes by Yoshiyuki Ohno (in the centerfold), half of the 10,000 audience members were American soldiers. It is a shame that the recording quality is still that of the record era compared to ①.
●The bonus CD-R includes the recordings of the concert held on November 9, 1998 at the Ginowan Convention Center as "OKINAWAN-ROCK T.V." It also includes recordings of "Zodeac" and "Island," who participated in the concert.
<Old story...>
I heard a story about how a hotel owner I know saw the "Manza Beach Rock Concert" in 1971, in which Murasaki performed, when he was a high school student, and it made me dizzy with the scene, which was like a scene from a movie. It was the height of the Vietnam War, and there were only five high school students among thousands of American soldiers. Apparently the whole area was filled with shirtless American soldiers smoking marijuana as much as they wanted before going into battle. It was in that environment that Murasaki developed her musical skills. The venue was the beach next to the current Manza Beach Hotel (built in 1983).
